how random.

so i'm home working on cleaning up my mess of an apartment and happened to have the tv on nbc. new alicia silverstone show called mismatch on. i'm half watching the show and this woman comes on who i swear i went to high school with. (at apple valley for those of you keeping score.) i looked it up on tv guide and it is her. maria thayer. she's an amazingly talented woman. she was a senior when i was a freshman and i very nearly idolized her. fantastic voice, great actor, terribly nice to boot. she won first at state for speech and was homecoming queen among other things. then she went to juliard and the last i'd seen of her she had a minor role in a guthrie production. now she's on nbc. guest spot, but still. she was good, beautiful. if there's anyone i've known that i think should make it, she'd definitely make the list.

also. my landlord recaulked my shower without really giving me notice. calling my cell and leaving a message saying 'you're not home so i'm going to work on it now' is not my idea of letting me know in advance. so i came home from work intending to shower only to find that i can't use my shower for 24 hours. grr. now i have to go find somewhere else to shower or i'm definitely not going out tonight.
