i feel like an idiot.

so i just number locked my keyboard. and then spent fifteen minutes trying to figure out how the hell i'd done it and how the hell to undo it. it took me that long to find anything in either the apple help menu or webpage that even mentioned the existence of a number lock key. who feels dumb? that's right. me. but for the record, it's on one of the function keys, and you can't really see that it says "num lock" on it unless you're looking at it from an overhead angle. and really, it shouldn't take fifteen minutes to find the answer to such a simple problem.

two things that amuse me. (okay. three.)

1) kindergarten for men. saw this on the news so early this morning that it was still my last night. i laughed out loud when they showed a clip of a man being taught to use a power saw in the way that real kindergarteners would put together a puzzle.

2) the grocery store had a sign up saying that until some point in november, they were only selling eggs and toliet paper to people over 18. i mean, i get it. there's probably been too much egging and t.p.-ing. but still. i was amused.

3) i thought this would amuse liz as well as amuse me. pirates! they also have quite a lot of odd underwear for sale. if you're bored, go look.

what are you talking about. my life is terribly exciting.

the girl downstairs has an extra dog today. i don't know why. but i saw it this afternoon. it's a beagle. it's not happy about there not being anyone home. how do i know? because it's loud. i doubt i need to add obnoxious to that, but i will. it was whining and barking and howling this afternoon, then she came home picked up both dogs, took them somewhere and apparently brought them back and left again. because the damn dog is being ridiculously loud again and her car's not here. it's a cute dog. but i'm desperately hoping this is a one day thing.
wonder if i'm going to be able to get any work done here tonight. *sigh*
