i'm fully returning to livejournal after curbing my addiction for far too long.
and with that, i would like to make an announcement.


my powerbook has been officially ordered.


the rest of the world has kids at our age, we have pretty computers. right? something like that? i don't know. but i'm ecstatic. still in shock, i nearly lost my breath when the confirmation number appeared. it should show up sometime next week. i will be here bouncing up and down until it does and then i will do nothing but love it for quite sometime afterwards. all right. enough for now.

in other news. i barely managed to make my finals deadlines, but i did. i feel pretty good about most of it. even the paper that i saved under the file name "crap"-- the one i couldn't remember what i'd written in it-- i already got back and somehow got a b on. don't ask me. i'm just hoping the rest of what i wrote gets graded as well. now i have a little over two weeks to write four or five other papers. very do-able i think. of course in that time i also have to move, find a job, and start unco. but ya' know. it'll be fine.

i turned the air conditioning on tonight, mostly to cut the humidity. welcome to minnesota summer kids. i couldn't leave the furnace on because my housemate (not the horrible one, but the one who doesn't understand thermostats) would turn it up to 78 before he went to bed, leaving me to wake up at four in the morning unable to sleep because it was so hot in my room. so now we have circulating air in the house again. and it's such a good thing. i'm spoiled by this luxury i know. just think, i'm giving up two different living spaces with air conditioning to do unco. i already know i'm crazy. don't worry.

now i'm rambling. i know i had things i wanted to post about. i just can't remember them right now. so. later. when i'm maybe not quite this euphoric, and my head is a little clearer, i will post more. i've missed this, missed really keeping up with all of you. i'm glad i get to again now.

i can't name it until after i meet it. i'd hate to pick out a name that didn't suit it. once i get to know it a little it'll be easier. ;)

I hear you on that one. I knew I wanted to give the iBook a Buffyverse name, but I didn't know until I'd taken it out of the box that it wanted to be Wes. I was actually leaning towards a different name before I got it.

DId you get it equipped with wi-fi? Because being able to use Wes at the Cow was totally one of the coolest things about the wireless network. :)
