where's my mocha? where's my angst?
Nov. 18th, 2004 05:12 pmsomething about today has me missing high school. or not high school in particular, but the way mid 90's alternative felt and rev 105 and riding around with jane and julia and getting coffee even though i was still learning how to drink it. maybe it has something to do with it beginning to get dark earlier, or other particulars about the weather. maybe it has to do with my own state of mind. but i'm missing the cozy feeling some of those years, some of those times, had right now. i can't even place my finger on it, but i wanted to acknowledge it anyhow.
time has been passing in strange chunks lately... the weekend feels like it just was, even though it's already thursday and i've not accomplished much this week. just to prove how wonderful he is
zennerthanyou went out and rented the triplets of bellville sunday while i was at work, knowing it was on my to-see list. since then, the only other real excitement was hearing the final mix of the new accidentals cd. (which, if i may say, sounds a million times better now that the reverb of doom has been removed).
the weekend on the other hand, or at least saturday, was lovely if perhaps a bit blurred by the two pina coladas i had at the red dragon. the company was superb and the chinese food was greasy. even if it wasn't a tiki bar, getting a chance to see
amojojo,
notmonochrome, and
nicepersonality and to meet
bloodlossgirl,
naoumena and the others was more than worth the sleep deprivation. (there are some lovely pictures i'll point y'all towards once i get them up somewhere.)
there is too much new music i want and don't have the money for. job hunting is in process. stupid holiday parking rules being the probable last straw. they honestly want us to park elsewhere and be shuttled. ha. i'm not amused.
