something like it.
Jul. 22nd, 2004 11:32 pmmy connection's still out. which means it's most likely i've been disconnected for having not paid them yet this month. which is fine i suppose, seeing as i was going to cancel service when i move next week anyhow. i move in like, a week! how crazy is that. the lease still needs signed, but assuming nothing horrible happens
zennerthanyou and i will shortly be living smack in the heart of uptown. can you tell i'm excited? as much as i love northfield, i'm also sick to death of northfield. and sick to death of missing the boy.
at any rate, i'm not getting to read quite everything i want or post terribly well. and now the cow's wifi has stopped working as well. *sigh* nothing can be easy lately, can it? i had a second temp agency (the one i've actually been registered with for a few years) tell me that they didn't have any openings for my "skill set" (whatever that means) and to try back in six months to a year. six months to a year?! ha. right. so i keep trying. day labor here i come...
(there's a table of stupid loud drunken boys a couple of tables away that are driving me crazy simply because they're so bloody inane. just thought you should know.)
the good things are:
that i've hopefully found someone who'll buy my steel string.
it rained beautifully tonight--poured buckets in fact--and it's not *quite* as humid as it was earlier.
it was crazy days in northfield today, and while i didn't have the money to enjoy it, i did break down and spend $9.75 which i shouldn't have. but! it was a full size quilt! and it's lovely and will compliment the one i bought this winter and for that price i couldn't just leave it there.
last night
borofish and i went to see angela mcclusky and the finn bros. at the guthrie. fun fun show. we also found out that one miss elisa is in town for a bit and got to hang out with her for a little while.
i really want to write more about the concert, but don't have the concentration right now. suffice to say angela mcclusky was fantastic--she's scottish, has a great stage presence and sense of humor, and opened with a great cover of famous blue raincoat--and i can't wait to get to know her music better. the finn bros. set left me wanting to see neil finn play a solo show (because he's just so... yeah.) and thinking that ted finn must smoke a lot of pot. i laughed a lot, and that was a good thing. it was good music, and that's never something to complain about.
and now, since it looks like the wireless won't be coming back up anytime soon, i'll head home and try to clean up and pack a bit. should also shower as my landlord's coming over in the morning to try and figure out why the shower is leaking yet again.
anyone want to hire me for any reason? let me know.
[aha. monday's wifi is still on and the signal just reaches to the street. good to know. even if it proves i'm pathetic. *grin*]
