do you think hypercondria is hereditary? ;)

and.

thus far, it appears that with panther i can no longer network to pc's running windows 98. which bites hardcore. my battered and fading pc is still running 98, and i have no intention of upgrading it. and all i want to be able to do is run my itsy bitsy network between it and arianwen so that i can transfer files between them without a huge hassle. but no. thank you to apple for what is (as of the moment) my first big gripe. if anyone knows how to deal with this? help!

It should still work, but I don't know enough about the Windows networking stuff to fix it. However, there are a few other ways, depending on how they're hooked up. OS X has a built in FTP server you enable in the Sharing control panel - you just need to download an FTP client for your PC. You would be able to upload and download files without too much trouble. That's the best way I can think of right now.
