this recording breaks my heart.

i wish i could be more specific about what exactly it is. i have a bunch of live elliott smith that i snagged from someone's archive back in the fall and imported to itunes before realizing it didn't have any kind of identifying info on it. one day i need to go back and re-download, that'll be a project.

but. point being, this version is clear and thoughtful and heartbreakingly beautifully emotional. and the pauses... oh the pauses where he vamps with just the main chords...

go take a look here. some of it is amazing and some of it is, well, hard to listen to because it was recorded when he was obviously going through tough times. but overall it's a goldmine. enjoy :)
